I loved experimenting with some new textures in this piece! Definitely some of my personal favorite Golden Fluid Acrylic colors - green gold, burnt sienna, and Nickel AZO Gold. The top left purple and green tiles made me think of dragon scales... can you see the knight?

Design was inspired by the stained glass windows in the Sagrada Familia, Barcelona. This is a scaled replica of an original design I used to create my unique clay tile mosaic technique. Originally I up-cycled an old canvas; my clay rolling, cutting and texturing technique was all new and irregular at best; and my color choices were a little more monochromatic. I think my first piece looked like a hack job with lots of potential, so redoing it a year later after more experience with this technique resulted in this lovely piece. I love how this turned out, and I am glad I decided to redo the original!

This is a replica of The Apse Clay Tile Mosaic design inspired by inspired by a stained glass window in the Sagrada Familia, Barcelona. While The Apse was made with yellows and orange warm tiles, in Cassiopeia I used different textures and colors, using a green, blue palate. The silver artifacts represent the Cassiopeia constellation.

This clay tile mosaic has a more traditional stained glass border design, with an all whimsical curve design within the borders. It is a vibrant, piece with lots of swirling patterns creating a sense of movement and energy. The dominant colors are bright yellow/greens, magenta, and blue/greens. And boy did I had fun using new textures!
