Wings of Light was a commission for a client who loves dragonflies. Before I started, we looked at various images, and color palettes using Pinterest. This gave me an idea of her likes and preferences, and helped me realize she had a preference for realistic images over abstracts.
I ended up doing a mixed media piece, that reflected my artistic style yet met her preferences. The two top dragonflies, and some of the grasses are made with clay. I used interference paint to give the dragonfly wings a different color and sparkle depending on the light.
